THE STREETS OF BABYLON

Though I walk through the streets of suffering
I will not bow nor bend to evil.
As I see those more unfortunate than I
I will lend a helping hand, wherever I am.

Hear me, Oh Jehovah,
And answer me in the hour of need
And lead me to stony solid ground
Where you shall be found.

Oh Jehovah, the body is weak,
But the heart is willing to let you love.
Fill all empty hearts, use me as your vessel.
Lord God, the pain of seeing the wicked
Destroy themselves lingers deep within my soul.

Oh Father, the world is so corrupted by doers of iniquity.
The garden you set aside for Adam and Eve
Is populated by idle whispers.
Oh Father in Heaven look down on me
And show mercy upon my indiscretion,
For I seek wisdom.

Jehovah, many of my brothers and sisters
Seek your doctrines. I implore you, Oh Holy Father,
To have pity on their beautiful souls.
As I stand on the streets of Babylon
And see hearts lost in vanity
And souls destroyed by confusion
I will stand firm.

Now Jehovah, I look to your mighty heavens
For a place to rest my head
And to think what to do next, for your sake.
As I walk the streets of the wicked
I will think of your everlasting love.

Oh Jehovah,
Remember me when the wicked persecute me.
Remember me when I ask for forgiveness.

Oh God, lend an ear to my prayer.
I hear people walking the streets of Babylon.
Guide them from danger
So they will not suffer injustice.

Father in Heaven
My heart is full of suffering.
My stomach is empty, by my own will.
Lord, Oh God, protect the righteous
And feed them and deliver them from evil-doers.

Keep my prayer, Lord my God
As I deliver it unto your House.
As those streets of Babylon increase in number,
Let no righteous person lose thy way
In these perilous times.

Oh Father, the weak are getting weaker
And the strong are getting stronger.
I pray for the day when I will see you, Oh Father,
In the streets of Babylon.
